Sasha Fierce is Poetic

Beyonce or Sasha Fierce however you address her is not only my favorite artist in the world but she is also a very unique artist. Beyonce not only knows how to connect with her fans on many different levels, but she also knows how to tell her life stories in various ways. Her 2016 album Lemonade was her second visual album to be released. Beyonce not only made this a visual album she also made this a concept album with many of the songs releasing stories of the scandal out about Jay-Z. Lemonade was a shocker to many of her fans because it released details on the cheating Jay-Z committed against Beyonce. Lemonade is one of Beyonce's best albums.

Sandcastles which is featured on Beyonce's Lemonade album is a very poetic song to me due to all the imagery it creates and other language/elements of poetry. The opening line of the song which states we built sandcastles that washed away, this line creates great imagery in my mind. The fact that the album is about the cheating Jay Z did on Beyonce, this line represents the family/bond they built and how his cheating washed it away. This opening line is very powerful because it sets the tone for the song and creates the main idea of the song. Dishes smashed on my counter from our last encounter. This line shows how the couple has gotten into a heated argument and started to destroy things around the house. I enjoy this line added to the song due to the fact that it shows the hurt Beyonce went through with getting cheated on. Not only do the lyrics create great imagery but the video that goes along with the song adds more effect to the song. In the music video, the camera man pans across the empty room which shows wilted flowers, a cracked bowl, weathered and faded pictures and these are all signs of a failed or broken relationship.

Beyonce is a great performer and artist, this Lemonade album added to her talent with the visuals she created in this album.
