A Sweet Death

The Short story Escape from Spiderhead is showing a not so far away future of scientifically creating every emotion known to man and producing these emotions through what the Saunders calls and "Mobipack" being attached to the backs of convicts with a debt that they owe to society. The Escape from Spiderhead is experimenting the idea can convicts the evil and most vile human beings in society be showed to love hate feel comparison and pain to others that they only know from three sexually experiences. Saunders does a marvelous job with making me feel compassion for these convicts who although have been murders and drug addicts and are killed off one by one by the Darkenflox. Although there is a bitter sweet ending that even though Jeff ends his own life by injecting himself with  Darkenflox, he has come to peace with himself as knowing he will never kill again and finally realizing how valuable life is.
