In the "return" of beloved she had very heavy vibes of rebirth, but would her return be a good thing or bad thing? Rebirth is the action of reappearing or starting to flourish or increase after a decline, in the case of Beloved there was no increase or no notable increase or decline. Every 4-8 years in our country there is a rebirth that effects almost everyone who lives here. We elect a new president into office who gives the country life of rebirth or change which can send us on track to decline or flourish.
This past year we put our rebirth in the hands of a person who may send us spiraling downhill as a country with his ideologies. With his antics the possibility of separation may occur and our identity as a whole may shift. In the book Beloved rebirth caused memories and past feelings which brings up the idea that current impact will have future consequences, which means each period of time builds off of each other. So, the choices we made now with the candidate, if his decisions send us in a decline we will have to deal with his impact even after his departure. Rebirth and return can be looked at as a good thing or bad depending on what you were left with and how you build off of that but also with what you leave behind.
The way you describe rebirth reminds me a bit of waves. There are high and low points to both, each ushering in the other. If there's a large dip in the water, a large wave is sure to follow, and visa versa. I think this pattern can be extended to "rebirth." If the previous rebirth is successful and beneficial, then we will grow complicit and take our elevated position for granted. This comfortability encourages inaction as we cannot imagine things being any different. Then the wave passes and we return to the valleys between the crests. We quickly realize how bad our situation is, so we take action and bring things back up to the next crest when we can. I think there's a cycle of rebirths as much as rebirths themselves are a cycle. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I think it works. Anyway, nice insights.
