Overseas Comedy

The Italian dramatic comedy "But Forever in My Mind" does an excellent job at enhancing our understanding of the world based off of a group of high schoolers that fight for their freedom as students in Italy during the 1970s. Although it is funny at times, for the most part the film describes what it was like to have been a teenager at the time dealing with problems from school, the government, parents and friends. The students do end up rioting the school and taking over kicking all teachers and administrative workers out. This somewhat relates to the violence between people and law enforcement that has been an ongoing issue for many cities and families. The film is a very cheeky but relatively accurate. This movie helps us understand what it's like to protest and rebel against things that we don't believe in or trust.

Protest similar to what happened in the movie are happening today based off of politics and restrictions put on certain individuals. This does represent a much broader trend in politics and protesting happening in other countries to fight against Donald Trump. This movie came out in 1999 but clearly can represent a trend in fighting for better rights as human beings and students. Just like there has been a downfall in the relationship with politics and people plus law enforcement and people, during the movie there was a downfall between the students and their school government and the characters relationship with their friends and family. However, in the end every character gets along with their closest friends and family. With that already happened I believe the same thing will occur between the relationships all human beings experience today.
